Supported Media Types for Pins
You can enhance your Pins with various types of Media:
Photos and videos
Audio recordings
File attachments
Sketches (find more details here)
Creating/Importing Media Attachments
Adding Media to a Pin is an easy and straightforward process. Simply Click on the +
Function button at the bottom right in the Pin details, right next to the note field.
For iPad users, there is a handy shortcut that allows you to directly open the camera, simplifying the process. Currently, smartphone apps can only add photos.
Pictures and Videos
You have the option to take new photos and videos directly with your device's camera or select existing photos from your gallery.
It is very easy to post multiple photos in a single Pin. Simply select them from your gallery or take multiple pictures at once by selecting the camera button in the confirmation view.
By default, all photos you take with the app are automatically saved in your device's gallery. If you want to Deactivate this option for a device, change that in your User settings.
In the settings, you can also adjust the size of the photos taken by the app to suit your needs.
File Attachments
Supported File types include: PDF, Excel, Word, pictures, and Audio Files.
When adding PDF Files on an iPad, we also offer the option to directly add a Sketch before the Files are saved. This can be useful when adding reports that require a signature or to mark a specific spot in the File.
Editing Media Attachments
Changing Media that has already been uploaded to the app is not possible, ensuring that the evidence remains intact. However, it is possible to add and Edit the comment to the attachment. Simply Click on the "pencil" icon below the Files.
Media View in the Web App
The Media View
is located in the side menu under Tasks
. In this view, you can view all Media added to a Project.
The quick Filters are located directly above the Media List and offer some quick options based on File types.
Additionally, there are 2 checkboxes that are enabled by default: "Show Media from comments" and "Hide inactive Media".
The more detailed Filter options are available via the
Filter
Function button at the top right of the screen.When you hover the Mouse pointer over a Media in the List, 2 options appear. A checkbox to select the File, and a
Open
Function button to open the full-screen view.In the full-screen view, there are additional options like

Downloading Media
Right next to the Filter Function button
is the Function button for more options - ...
, which offers 3 options for Downloading the Media Files:
The "Download selected Media" option is only active if a Media has been selected. Move the Mouse pointer over the selected File and a checkbox will appear.
"Download filtered Media" is only active if a Filter is set. Use the
Filter
Function button at the top right for this."Download all Media" will Download all active Media that have been added to a Pin.
There is also a Download
option in the full-screen view of a File.
Deactivating Media
To Deactivate all types of Media attachments, Click on the Archive box
icon. Or open the File and Click on Deactivate
.
Finding Deactivated Content
In the Pin details:
Click on the
...
menu to the left above the Pin title.Select the last option
Show inactive content
.The inactive Media will be displayed in the Pin.
On the "Media View" tab:
Uncheck the
Hide inactive Media
checkbox and the inactive content will be included in the List.
Deleting Attachments
Generally, it is not possible to delete anything from the app. Read more about it here. However, you do have the option to Deactivate Media.
The attachments will still be available in the background but will no longer be displayed in current views and reports.
