Pins are used to mark the location where an object can be found on a Plan, and serve as a hub for all relevant data in your Project - whether it's a defect, construction progress, or an inventory item.
BUT: You cannot Assign a Pin to another user. The Pin always remains "in possession" of the creator. Instead, use Tasks to Assign them to specific users, including Subcontractors.
How can I give a Subcontractor access to a Pin?
When working with Subcontractors, it is important to consider their limited viewing and Editing rights within the Project. They only see the Plans on which Tasks have been Assigned to them and the Pins containing those Tasks. To give a Subcontractor access to a Pin, create a Task within the Pin and Assign it to them. Once the Task is Assigned, the Subcontractor receives a notification and can Edit it.
How can I inform a Subcontractor about his Tasks if he is not a docu tools user?
In situations where the Subcontractor is not a docu tools user, you can inform him about his Tasks using a Report. To do this, first create an appropriate Report and include the relevant Pins and Tasks associated with the Subcontractor's work. Download the created Report and send it to the Subcontractor via email or another suitable communication channel. This way, the Subcontractor is informed about his Tasks and can work on them.
