Import Plans

To start with a Project, Plan import is the first crucial step. docu tools allows the Import of Plans in PDF, JPG, and PNG formats. The Import of Plans can be done in the Web app as well as in the iPad app. Import is not possible on smartphones.

in the Web app

Follow these instructions:

  1. Locate the Plan import Function button in your Projects list:

  • If you are starting a new Project, you will see the "Import Plans" and "Create Folder" Function buttons in the middle of the view.

  • In an existing Project with Plans, the "Import Plans" Function button is located at the top right above the Plan list.

  • If you are using the Tile view of the Plan list, Click on the "Add File" Function button in the last Tile of the view.

  1. In the Plan import window, you can add one or more Plans via drag and drop or using the Add File Function button.

  2. After selecting the Plans, a preview will be displayed where you can make various changes to the Plans.

  3. Adjust the target Folder, the Plan name, and the orientation as desired. - Please note that the orientation of the Plans cannot be changed later, so make sure it is correct at the time of Import.

  4. If you are uploading multiple Plans, adjust the settings for each File individually.

  5. Finally, Click on the "Upload" Function button.

While the Files are being uploaded, you can continue working in docu tools by hiding the upload progress indicator. The upload process will continue in the background. You can track the progress of the upload via the progress bar at the bottom of the screen.

on the iPad

The procedure for Importing Plans with the iPad app is very similar to that of the Web app. Before you upload new Plans, make sure you have a stable internet connection.

  1. Locate the Plan import Function button:

  • If you are starting a new Project, you will see the "Import Plans" and "Create Folder" Function buttons in the middle of the view.

  • In an existing Project with Plans, the "Import Plans" Function button is located at the top right above the Plan list.

  • If you are using the Tile view of the Plan list, Click on the "Add File" Function button in the last Tile of the view. 2. When you Click on the Function button, you will be directed to the Plan import view. 3. In this view, you can add one or more Plans by using one of the three provided Function buttons:

  • Use the device's Camera to take a photo and Import it as a Plan.

  • Add a photo from the device's Gallery.

  • Add a File in PDF, JPG, or PNG format via the File Function button. 4. After selecting the Plans, you will see a preview where you can make various edits. Adjust the target Folder, the Plan name, and the orientation as desired.

  • Please note that the orientation of the Plans cannot be changed later, so make sure it is correct at the time of Import. 5. Click on the Import Function button to proceed.

  • Here too, you have the option to hide the upload view and continue working while the Plans are being uploaded in the background. 6. To return to the view, simply Click again on the Import Plans Function button.
