Organization Structure

Updated this week

An Organization in docu tools typically encompasses all users of a Company. There are also working groups (ARGE) that collaborate within an Organization, even though the users come from different Companies. Each user can be assigned to only one Organization but can be invited to as many projects from other Organizations as desired.

Organization Owner

Every Organization has an Organization owner. The Organization owner can be the person who first registered with docu tools within a firm or was nominated later, for example, when ordering licenses. Depending on the size of the Company, this could be the CEO, an IT staff member, or someone from departmental management. The ownership can be transferred to other individuals in the Company if someone should Leave the Company or take on other responsibilities within the Company.

The Organization owner has the following duties and permissions:

  • Management of users in the Organization

  • Assignment of paid licenses to the relevant individuals

  • Granting permissions for License management and project management

  • Access to all projects in the Company (?)

  • Ability to manage roles in projects directly from the License management

There can only be one Organization owner. However, the permission to manage licenses and projects can be allocated to multiple users to enable management by others. This is especially recommended for large teams.

All information about License management can be found here.
