What is a device limit?
docu tools users can use docu tools simultaneously on two devices, so that the docu tools app is installed on the tablet and on the smartphone. Alternatively, it is possible to use two tablets or two smartphones.
Info: The docu tools web application can always be opened on an unlimited number of devices, no matter if desktop, tablet or smartphone.
Which mobile devices are affected by the device limit?
Device limits affect the following docu tools products:
- docu tools for iPhone, iPad
- docu tools for Android smartphones and tablets
Which mobile devices count?
Every device on which a user is signed in counts as a device for the device limit. If a user has several devices of the same type, every device counts as one. If a user signs in with his docu tools account on two iPhones, this counts as a login on two devices.
Where to look up how many and which devices are linked to an account?
All devices linked with an account can be seen under "Devices" in the user's settings.
How to register a device?
The device is registered automatically in the user settings at the first login into the app on a mobile device.
How to deactivate a device or remove it from the user account?
If a device has to be replaced by another, the device to be replaced has to be deactivated. The new device is registered automatically at the first login.
Info: Login on the replaced device is not possible any more as soon as it has been deactivated. Please sync all data before deactivating the app on the device that is being replaced.
What happens if a device is removed from an account, can there be a loss of data?
If a device is removed from an account, the synced data is preserved. Sign-out from the app happens automatically and locally served data is preserved.
Why is there a notice on the device limit although docu tools is only used on two devices?
Possibly the user account is still linked with a device that is no longer in use. Check user settings under "Devices", which mobile devices are linked with the account.
docu tools was deinstalled and reinstalled on the device. Why is there a notice on the device limit and how to solve this problem?
Possibly the device was identified as a new device when docu tools was reinstalled. Remove the „old“ device under "Devices" in the user settings.
